Ergonomic Kneeling Chair

If you work in an office you've probably heard about the importance of ergonomics. There are all kinds of products designed to keep your body in the right position for health and wellness. Sitting at a desk all day is harder on your body than you might think, as it puts unwanted pressure on the discs between the vertebrae as well as the hips, legs and feet. One way to combat this is with an ergonomic kneeling chair.

While these chairs are still not as popular as traditional desk chairs they should be considered by anyone who works in a seated position for the majority of the day. The ergonomic knee chair or ergonomic kneeling stool is designed to minimize stress and strain on the body while keeping the user comfortable and supported. Some of these chairs have a back support, others do not. They all feature a pad on which to sit and a support for the knees. When sitting in one of these chairs your back should be straight, knees bent and resting on the pads and feet comfortably on the floor or foot pad support.

Sitting in ergonomic knee chairs may take some getting used to at first. Not only does the chair look different it feels different. However many users of these chairs claim they are more comfortable than ever and experience less desk-related strain. There are many different manufacturers who make ergonomic kneeling chairs and many different stores who sell them. You can find these chairs online and at stores like Staples, Office Depot and even Target. Even if you don't want to shop online doing some Internet browsing can help you find a store in your area who has what you need.

The cost of ergonomic kneeling chairs depends on where you shop and the features they come with. On average these chairs start at around $80 and go up from there. Some cost hundreds of dollars. Of course just because a chair is more expensive doesn't mean it is better. Compare the features of the more expensive chairs with the budget priced choices to get the best deal. For example you may find knee chairs that are very similar when it comes to features but vary dramatically in price.
